John Comer was a flight engineer and turret gunner in the 391st BG 533rd SQ stationed at Ridgwell, England in 1943 and received the DFC after completing his 25 combat missions. Some of those missions were Schwinfert, Paris and Berlin with heavy losses. John survived the war and wrote a book "Combat Crew" about each of the missions. I was lucky to have been his next door neighbor for many years. He was a remarkable man, one of the "Greatest Generation". I miss him.

Worked on F-8s and F-4s with VMF-321 (VMFA-321 when we transitioned to F-4s) Would like to have good wood, heavy plastic or metal model of F-8, especially if it had the Black Baron's colors and markings which VMF-321 had for awhile.

My dad, Joseph P. Johnson, was a bombardier in the
Pacific Theater on a B24.I have a photo of him and the
crew (Pilot George Bailey) in New Guinea, 1944.
Joe was from Worcestor, Mass.
There is a skeleton head on the tail with no. 272941.
Any help that anyone knew him?
