My uncle Joe Ross Calvit showed me this web site and told me stories of his time serving. He flew a P-47N on combat missions in Japan. He passed away shortly after showing me the site and I have just now had time to go through it. You all have done such a good job of keeping the memory going. His name was Joe Ross Calvit and he could tell you every detail of his service up to the day he passed away. He is still one of my heros. Thank you all for your service and dedication.

I am looking for information regarding my father's military career. I came across a reference on your page about an accident in Japan, Dec. 1951. I believe this may be the same accident my father was in. I would love to find out more about it.

413 bomb squadron, 96 bombardment group (heavy),snetterton heath, england. 30 missions, including 2 shuttle missions to russia. lead pilot, lead squadron many times. Never lost a crewman.

I wish there was a way to buy models of Russian airplanes from within Russia. I've been searching for the MiG 1.44 MFI and the Sukhoi Berkut in 1/48 scale, with no luck. Gene Cuthbertson

Hey Shipmate, I just got a glimpse of your website. I'm really impressed. How in the world do you handle advertising for all these people. I'm just completing my website and get about 60 unique visitors a day. How many visitors are needed to think about advertising, is it worth it? Any advice? Anyway, keep up the good work. You provide something great for all of us veterans. BTW, I was on the USS Oriskany 67-68, and on the USS Hancock 68-69. I miss Olongapo, what about you? Dennis Lund
