Hi, I was the Blues reporter/photographer for the Winsford Chron in the halcyon days of the McKenzie era and remember some fantastic times, victories and the odd defeat with a great deal of affection. Weekends away in Whitley Bay, the great day out at Wrexham in the FA Cup first round proper, people like Bevon Blackwood, the stadium announcer David (I think) Mike M of course, Malcolm who was chairman at the time, Andy Hall and Wayne Grant (Collins) and Darren Sheridan who was scoring great freekicks when a certain Mr Beckham was in short pants. I remember John Whitney as a fine attacking fullback of course and a couple of good keepers although their names escape me. I have recently retired after 15 years spent in Cardiff as the athletics writer for the South Wales Echo. I rarely get to Cheshire these days but I always look out for United's results and wish the club better fortunes. It would be great to see the Blues back in the Unibond and maybe, eventually, in the Blue Square. I would love to hear from any players or supporters from that era who a) remember me and b) want to get in touch. Best wishes Bob
