My name is Hugh L. White. I joined the 27th Armored FA Bn in March of 1948 at Bad Bruckneau, Germany. As I recall, I was assigned to "C" Battery. Sgt Henry was the 1st Sgt. I was a part of the Unit when we became the 27th Constabulary Sqdn on April 6, 1946. Later that year, as I recall, we moved to Schweinfurt and I remained with the Unit I rotated home in March 1948. During the time at Schweinfurt, Capt Hildebrand was CO, Lt Haines was Exec Off and Sgt Brazwell was 1st Sgt. I was a radio operator reaching the rank of T/3. T/Sgt James Nolley was Communications Sgt. During the Korean conflict I was Bn Sgt/Maj of the 933rd AA Bn with the defenses of Inchon in 1953. I would be glad to hear from anyone who was a member of the 27th during those years. My PH: 361-960-7651

Reading eight balls, chapter 3, he mentioned the days of non-fraternization, and wondered why condoms were passed out at the gate, since we were not to fraternize. He should have known that the condoms were to blouse our boots with.

I think this is a wonderful way for these men to stay in touch. I was also surfing and to my sorrow, discovered a very good friend of mine was on this list and had also passed. His name Bobby C. Bush and I would like more info about his passing, if possible. I did know he had re-married sometime after his Wife's passing and was very happy. Would like to know the date of his passing, if possible. Thanking you for this imfo.

A browse through memory lane on the day after Independance Day brings thoughts of happiness and tears of the soldiers and their families we have known through the years. We honor these memories with contact with as many as possible and wish for a continued gathering of ALL these honorable folk in a never failing spirit of remembering the days when we were both guides and saviours of a peoples and a nation. God does indeed bless us all!. Well Done, Troopers.

Haven't been on the site for several months. I've only run into one trooper I served with in 1946 in 14th Contab. Light Tanks Troop in Kitzingen and Schweinfurt. Nice to see this site is still going. Bill Jackson
