To Alexis & the Shaffer family - The story in yesterday's Dispatch was beautiful. Hopefully it will stir up some additional &/or renewed interest in Brian's story. I don't know Brian (or any of you), but I've followed his story all along and have thought many times about how much we all tend to take our loved ones for granted. It's so awful when something like this happens and we're forced to remember that taking each other for granted is a luxury that none of us can afford. I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers until Brian is home where he belongs!! Oh, and I changed the signature on my outgoing e-mail to the findbrianshaffer website...I just wish I could do more. Hang in there & remember there are a lot of people praying for Brian's safe return!

I know Brian from high school, know him mostly from Jr. High baseball, but enough to know that the next time I do run into him, he'll look at me and say hi, and call me by name. I've kept up on all news/articles published about this nightmare, and will continue to do so until some closure is provided. At this point it may sound cliche, but I can't think of a time when I saw Brian without a smile on his face. He is a great person. Alexis, please continue to be strong and fight for his safety. I pray for the day you, and his family, are able to spend time with him again.

My thoughts are with you. In the Dispatch article you said you call Brian's phone every day. Do you have his phone? If not, doesn't his phone have to be recharged to continue receiving the voice mail? Can't the provider trace (triangulate) the call?

I read your story on the dispatch website. I posted brians button on my myspace and sent mass emails to all i know at Ohio State. Contacted doctors i know at the Med- Center and made everyone of my friends post a note on myspace about him. Im sure hes coming back, keep your trust in God and keep your hopes up. Your story made me cry, tell me what to do to help you. God bless you and i'll keep you both in my prayers
