I was watching E! Spring Break Tragedies last night and Brian's story really touched my heart. I cannot express how much my heart hurts for your entire family. Dear Family and Friends of Brian Shaffer, I saw Brian's story for the first time tonight on tv. My heart goes out to all of you..........I cannot even begin to imagine the incredible pain and sorrow that you all must be feeling. I do not know Brian, but wanted to just let you know that there are people out here who want to help, even if it is only with thoughts and prayers. I just saw special about Brian on the Spring Break Tragedies show on E! The story really struck me and I immediately checked out this webpage, which, I must say is a beautiful tribute to Brian. I do not know Brian, nor Alexis, nor the Shaffer family, but as I sit here reading the letters and looking at the pictures, tears stream down my face and I feel a horrible lump in my throat. I cannot begin to imagine what you are going through; the worry, the wondering, the confusion and concern. I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and Brian. May God watch over and protect him, wherever he may be, and bring him home to you safe and sound. Please, whatever you do, never lose hope. I don't know if you are familiar with the Shawn Hornbeck case that was in the news in January of 2007. Shawn was a boy from a rural town near St. Louis who went missing at the age of 11, but his family never stopped searching, never lost hope, and thankfully Shawn was found 4 years and 3 months later. His story is proof that miracles do happen!! Never, ever, ever give up hope! May God bless you and Brian always.

I just learned of this tragedy this evening while watching a show on Spring Break tragedies. For some reason I felt compelled to come see the website created to help find Brian. He is only 2 weeks younger than I am and it really makes you realize how fragile life really is, our generation thinks too often that we are simply invincible. My heart goes out to all of you who are suffering, keep up the great work of keeping his story alive. I will keep Brian and all of you in my prayers. I hope that he comes home to you happy, healthy and with a great adventure story to share.

Ever since I have seen the TV segment about Brian's dissapearence, it has touched me.... I could never understand or feel what this family is going through, but I would like to send positive thoughts and let the family know they are in my daily prayers.
