Hi everybody! Just spoke to Casy Folks (BITD)this morning. He faxed me the 2005 race dates. The Coalition are the first people to see the 2005 BITD scheduale. Blue Water Resort Parker 425, Febuary 4,5,6 . Terrible's Town 250 April 29,30 and May 1. McMillin Nevada 1000 July 6,7,8,9,10. TSCO Vegas to Reno "500 mile" October 6,7,8. Henderson's Terrible 300 December 2,3,4. Also just to clear up what Deral Smith spoke about earlier in the week. BITD never got rid of the 5/1600 class. They call it "5100" They get a few cars every year. This year I beleive there have been some that have raced the Parker 425 and the Terrible's 250. Casy would love to see more car classes. He started out only racing bikes .Then with the factories (Ford, Goodyear and BFG)looking at his series he started bring trucks into his races. Like all the Stone stock classes. Now he has lots of Class 1's some 10's and a few 1/2 1600's. Also You can fix your racecars on the course. You just cant have your crew come out to your car. The drivers can repair it themselves, you can get another racer to tow you to the pits or have another race vehical bring the part to you. One of the main reasons Casy does this is due to the BLM. He get's us to race in places that no other series can, due to his close relationship with the BLM. And the agreements he has to make (as in no chasing on the course). I truly believe that Casy & Diane love what their doing and their tring to do what's best for the racer's. Well I will get off my soap box now. Thanks for your time. I work at Race Ready Products in Chula Vista. Maybe you could work with the MDR group and have a race within their schedule at Plaster City, Ca.. The old FUD/Superstion Series. I bet they would love to have you. Keep up the great work and send us over a few more 5/1600 customers. Tim Mathews Race Ready Products 619-691-9171

Hey guys, I'm seeling a 1967 Baja bug. All it needs is a motor and it is ready to head down the road. I only want $500.00 Firm for it. The body is straight, make for a great new body if your 5/1600 body is damaged, so if you wanted to strip it and piece it out, you could make your money back. Give me a call if your interested. 928-768-6306.

to me it don't make any sense to race bitd . 1st thing is no 5-1600s race bitd now so that is a red flag. then the bitd dropped the 5-1600 class maybe they didn't want us and now they want us? and i don't like the rule that you can't fix the car on the track. put me down for more or if i want to go to nevada mabey snore

I'm new to the class. I recently bought a 5/1600. I am finishing making some changes and preping it. I would be interested in the races you would be doing with Snore and Best in the Desert. Those are the places that are close for me and I was looking to race. My budget does not allow me to travel really far. Also my team is my family and I don't know how comfortable I would be with them in Mexico. I have never raced down there. I'm sure the racing is great and it is fairly safe, but it is not for me. There are alot of places to race in Nevada and California. When will you be posting the 2005 races for the teams to vote on? Also who's rules does the Coalition fallow? As I was thinking of maybe adding microstubs to my car.

I totally agree with the idea to race some of the BITD races next year. I also have contacted Casey and he is very willing to get 5/1600 cars back into his mix. My partner and I raced The Parker 425 and the Terrible Town 250. I also raced Quads in the same sieres. Every event has been a BLAST... Casey and his crew put on a great show. Ron, if you can, get us the info on when we are going to Vote for next years Races and how to do so.

I have four series that are intrested in supporting the 5/1600s for next year; CODE, MORE, SNORE and now BITD. As far as racing in Mex goes, there are a lot of great 5/1600 racers south of the border who can't come north to race with us. I am going to talk to promoters and set up some race dates and let you guys vote on what schedule we should race for next year. I am most likely going to take a six month break from racing next year so I will just be working on coalition stuff for the first six months. If anybody knows of any potential sponsors for next year big or small let me know so I can start getting things together so I am not running around at the last minute like I did last year (one of the pitfalls of also racing). Good luck to you guys racing this weekend with more, remember to hydrate. Ron Plunkett
