Hau mitakuye, I was emcee at a powwow when we first heard of her death. We paused for a few minutes and one of the Calapooya elders of this area of southern oregon and her family sang a payer song and we all called Lori's name five times which is the way of the people here in Oregon. wolakotah--peace

I am an Aleut, who grew up on the Navajo nation at Tolani Lake, which is about 40 miles from Oriabi. I went to school with both Navajos and Hopi children. I lost my oldest brother, John, a Green Beret, in Viet Nam. My love, thoughts, and prayers go out to Lori's children and family.
