I shall lift up one of my beautiful Native American Flutes and let the Great Spirit play through me, a song to end the suffering and to help guide her spirit home to the high places. And I shall ask the nearby Bald Eagles in their winter nesting grounds to fly my greeting to her and our thanks for her sacrifice. I hope she will often send back her messages of love with the Eagle-Messenger to us, who remember and love her.

I have always considered the greatest national treasure that America has to be the indigenous peoples of North America. And any time a Native American gave, gives or will give their life to a nation that has treated them so terribly over the years I am amazed and heartbroken. Amazed that someone would risk theif life to defend a nation that subjugated and demeaned their ancestors for years. Heartbroken because in my heart I know that a very good person died. A person who was able to see past tragedies forced upon the Native American Tribes throughout history, and who could look beyond that to see that our nation is actually based on strong principles, mutual acceptance and respect, and honor. I for one am proud that women like Lori have graced this earth. I hope that someday I be as brave as her.

i have been wearing two small eagle feathers for lori since she went missing.one fight and one fluff ... i need not explain to MY relations..but others may not understand....the flight is for her journey and the fluff... her spirit..guess i will wear them til they fall off...please dont forget her sister in your prayers.. jessica.. she not a native but she was lori's sister in spirit.when the prayer smoke rises for lori , mention her friend and sister..she has a long painful road as well.took me a while to get past the "why couldn't it have been the other way " train of thought ...honor all warriors of all shades in lori's name .
