babs, good point about the dumb president who are too stup*d to deal with! Anyway, the fact is that Peirsol and the US team have been famous among coaches and swimmers of other countries for their illegal conducts in the water and false accusations. In other words, the cheating in 200M backstroke is not an isolated incident at all. The three judges are the first ones to have guts to mention the cheatings. They did the right thing on behalf of everyone. But do you know what happened to them? Those judges were kicked out of the Olympics obviously by the pressure of the US team. One of the judges, a French guy, has 25 years of experience and he was certain that Peirsol was cheating. Other two, a Singporean and a Russian, confirmed it, too. They just did their job, but were sacked. That's what America did to the honest judges! Now we all know how nasty Americans can be. Well, perhpas we already knew it from what Americans are doing in Iraq. They are killing innocent citizens there and making excuses and justifying the massacre. If you act against US interest, no matter what you are punished like the prisoners abused and killed in the Iraqi prisons.

the more you yell like that, the more the world look down on you and your country. I'm sorry. You're right. I did respond rather stupidly, I became more than a little pissed off though at the comment someone made about being "too american". However. I don't take back what I said about Peirsol. Firstly, he wasn't the one who originally called the japanese swimmer on it, it was another U.S. male swimmer. So to say that Aaron was trying to "accuse others to cover up his sins" isn't accurate. The tapes for that athlete were reviewed and he had in fact used a dolphin kick after his turn. I swim the 100m backstroke in almost every meet. I've definately dolphin kicked out of a turn at least once. I was disqualified. This means however, that my coach had me watch everything I did and other people, I know what it looks like to dolphin kick out of a turn and that wasn't it. I realize that this isn't about me. However I just thought those things should be pointed out and I hope you find that (this time) I did it in a much more composed and eloquent manner. Apologies for flipping out.

First of all CONGRATULATIONS for Aaron on the three goldmedals and finally the WR in the 100m!! GREAT!!
BUT...It really makes me sick how some people in this guestbook comment about Aaron! PLEASE STOP IT!!! He doesn't deserve that! You all know he must be a hard working athlete to achieve all this accomplishments and to think he cheated is simply ridiculous because hes the world's premier backstroker and far ahead of the rest of the bunch.
Concerning the Kitajima cheating I think he just wanted to protect his teammate and he wasn't the only one who noticed the dolphin kick, he just was the one who had the guts to mention it!
To 'uncle sam': What kind of problems do you have with europeans??
Even in this guestbook you see Aaron has a lot of fans here, we're not the ones who bash him! Got that?
Let me tell you I'm as proud to be european as you being american. At least we're not the ones having a dumb president playing war all over the world!!

Anna,
you are too illogical here. On what ground do you insist that Peirsol is not an offender and the other is? Just because you are emotional and just because you are "too American", right? I understand that you may want to justify the dishonest and arrogant behaviors of Peirsol, but remember - the more you yell like that, the more the world look down on you and your country.
The universal understanding is that Peirsol always cheat and people are aware of that. This sneaky guy accuses others to cover up his sins when he himself is the most serious culprit.

Winning a race with a wide margin does NOT make Aaron Peirsol innocent. Peirsol is guilty - he broke the rule and used banned kicks. In fact, he does it all the time in other races. That's enough to suspend him from racing. If he wants to accuse Kitajima or someone, he should stop using dirty tricks and clean up himself first. People know he is a rogue, willful offender and a pathetic hypocrite.
