I was born in Warwick but left R.I. in 1951. I remember the 1938 hurricane. We got out of school early that day. My friend Johnny Coutcher wanted me to ride on his scooter down the hill but my mother wouldn't let me. We lost a lot of trees around our house and it was a scary time. I also remember seeing the Hindenburg go over our house when we were coming home from school about 3:00 pm. Then heard on the radio about it crashing in N. J.

My oldest son and I visted Mass/RI areaate alot of great food and had winnies just about every day. Went to Da Hill just love the Italian food....Hated to leave but good ol Kansas was calling me home.

I grew up in South Providence and went to Tyler School and was an altar boy at St Peter and Paul's Cathedral. Many fond memories of Rhode Island. Whenever I get down to RI I hit the NY System in E Prov. How I miss Rocky Pt clam chowda. Take care everyone. It was nice to see all the RI names and comments......

I grew up in Silverlake, my muddah still does. Last year, while visiting my ma, I drove down into Olneyville with one of my childhood friends. I orders 3 all the way and an order of 'fries'. My frined (who lives in Cranston) looks down at my plate that has 3 heaping weinies and says, "well, at least you didn't get 4"...you know...after I gobbled down the 3 dogs, I went back for the 4th.
