I was born in Providence and raised in Cranston until I left RI over 20 years ago. I now live in Upstate New York where the food just SUCKS! We have to drive 2-1/2 hours to RI just to get some decent food: pizza strips, weiners, fish cakes, pepper biscuits, clam cakes, chowda, etc. It's so sad to have had the BEST food in dah world only to leave it behind for jobs, adventure, and family life. I miss a lot about RI, but I mostly miss the food and the ocean. Love your website!

Born and raised in Providence, RI however, I just moved to CT (just over the Foster line)5 years ago but still a true Rhode Islander. Graduated from Mount Pleasant High back in June of '65. You can't keep me out of RI in fact I probably spend 98% of my time there between working, shopping and just going everywhere and anywhere. Oh yes, those weiners are the best and I still eat 'em, 4 all the way. I have many fond memories of Providence back in the 50's and 60's. I continue to remember all the good times; downtown, the Outlet (especially at Christmas), RKO Albee Theater, Elmwood Theater on Elmwood Avenue - 2 movies for a quarter, Roger Williams Park, Warwick Shoppers World, Brodsky's Toy Store, Burger Chef, Onleyville, Atlantic Mills, First National Stores, and back in the 50's and 60's Peter Pan Diner on Elmwood Avenue where my girlfriend and I would go after school (Gilbert Stuart Jr High) for some french fries and a coke. Don't know if anyone remembers the Public Street Bar on Public St. in Providence. Although it was a bar and we were only 12 and 13, we were allowed in the establishment just as long as we stayed in the room marked food only. They had the very best meatball sandwiches. And no, we did not tell our parents. Lol...!!! I guess I could go on and on but those of you from RI certainly know only too well what great memories there are here in RI.

Born and raised in Pawtucket, went to college in Florida, got a job, lived there 19 years, but The Bucket was calling, and I'm back in RI! "Just when I thought I was out, they drag me back in!"
