Ben would have been thirty years old tomorrow. I'm looking forward to having some smoked brisket chili and beer to celebrate his accomplished and colorful life. I bet he laughs every time I bring his old car to the shop. I laugh every time I think about putting offensive political stickers on the bumper. I think for his birthday I'll put one political sticker and one pro-beef industry sticker on the bumper to balance out the universe. You are my dearest friend, Ben, and I miss you. Please put in a good word for me with The Big Guy. -C

What a gift Ben gave us all! I never had the pleasure of meeting him but he has touched my life forever with his story. What wisdom from one so young! Thank you for sharing Ben with us all!

What an inspiration! I read your Ben's story with tears welling up in my eyes. If only everyone had such a spirit. From another person "left behind" as a result of this terrible disease. I stand shoulder to shoulder with you as we work to make sure that others diagnosed with sarcoma get the opportunity to personally tell their stories of survival for years to come. Onward and upward!

Ben,
I am sorry that I didn't know you in this life, but I feel that I know you now through your Mom. She and I attend very special meetings for those of us who have lost children. She shares your life and story with us, as we share ours with her. My son, Eddie, was so much like you; kind, compassionate, with a love for life, family, and friends. I loved the picture of you in Munich. Eddie was also at Octoberfest in Munich in 1996. How close you two came to being in the same place at the same time! How sad that we here can no longer draw upon the joy you brought to us except in memory. Your mom is a great lady. She's put together a wonderful tribute to an exceptional son. I wish we could have met. You continue to inspire. Janice Lazarone
