Ben would turn 33 today. I'm off to Old Glory for some BBQ with some of the usual suspects, but this year there's a new addition to the crowd, William McAllister, Ben's nephew. Will is a handsome little man with a set of pipes, something he surely gets from both sides of the family. I look forward to toasting Ben this evening with beer, some chili and his friends and local family. You are dearly missed, Ol' Friend.
With love,
Chris

Hi Margaret and family
Only just seen this website and think it's wonderful. Have tried to email you a couple of times, but not sure whether your email address is still the same. I hope all is well with you. I still wish I'd known Ben the man, although I'm sure he was as kind and generous as I remember him being when we were kids. Do you have a preferred charity I can donate to? Please get in touch if you can. best wishes Andre

hi Ben's mom, I just read your story about Ben and had to sign the guest book to say thank you for sharing the story of your wonderful son and his fight. You did a great job as a mom to raise such a caring, brave son.

Another year’s gone by and Ben would have turned 31 today. I’m sad today. I went to Old Glory for some brisket hash and eggs with Ryan Hedgepeth. It was great to see Ryan, and Ben would have been happy to see Ryan handily polish off a foot long “pit dog” with, wait for it, four strips of bacon on top. I was a bit insulted that they served my hash with fruit. Makes me think I’ll have to find someplace else to eat my brisket next year, perhaps Terlingua. Happy Birthday, Ben. I miss you. Your best friend, Chris.

Beloved Ben: Not a day goes by that I do not think of you or call you by name. And every year at this time, I remember those agonizing days at the hospital in Odessa -- lonely, not knowing what was wrong, seeing you in so much pain. And then I see your glorious smile! I miss you with all my being. Child of my heart, you are with us always.
Love forever, Mom
