cheers = skull in these languages: The Danish, Norwegian, Swedish (skål) and Icelandic (skál) drinking toast has a rather macabre background; it originally meant skull. The word has come down from a custom practiced by the warlike and terrorist Vikings who used the dried-out skulls of their enemies as drinking mugs, with the evident advantage that the mug held a large quantity of mead and could be easily replaced. The viking influence on todays Scandinavian language, and in particular mentioned the danish etc word for "cheers" (skal) came from olden day slaying of people and the associated use of the top of the skull as a drinking vessel. ..Sweden was silently pursuing principles of racial purity. During those 41 years, some 60,000 Swedes were sterilized as misfits who did not meet the ideal of the blond, blue-eyed, stupid Scandinavian. ..the Swedish government has the nationalistic ideology called 'Nordism' which teaches the Swedes to hate Finnish language and its speakers, ordinary Finns. Hate crimes to come by this EU government? ..firms located in Sweden supported the Nazis' financial and industrial leadership. ..Sweden's crucial role in supplying Nazi Germany iron ore and military facilities. These massive deliveries of iron ore and military facilities from Sweden to Nazi Germany lengthened World War II. Casualties of the war have been estimated at 20 million killed in Europe. How many of them died due to Sweden's material support to Nazi Germany, is not known. ..the Swedes executed at least 460 Finns in the spring 1918. www.suomalaisuudenliitto.fi/case.htm
