Keloland 1320 AM had you show for many years here in South Dakota and this year starting in January 2007 it stopped running your show. The Monica Crowley Show was put in your time slot. Can you put on your website what radio stations are airing your show that I can listen too or play your show live on your internet web site.

The recently released movies this past weekend looked like clunkers, particularly "The Hitcher".Why on Earth would Hollywood remake a movie like that? It wasn't great, but it was entertaining, (the original Hitcher). It must be nice coasting making all these painfully bad remakes of good movies; what a cushy job and spending someone elses money doing so! I'm looking forward to thirty one days of Oscar on Turner Classic Movies this month.

Thanks for posting an archived show. I really miss you guys...a really unique, fun, and unpretentious show. I've looked around for alternative shows, but to no avail. I am now forced to do mundane housework with lame ambient music (instead of your show) in the background. Please return soon...

More interesting than that (I didn't even bother watching The Pink Panther remake) is to get a copy of BEDTIME STORY with David Niven and Marlon Brando from which the remake DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS was made. DRS in no way compares to the original. Who could better personify continental culture and intellectualism than David Niven? But more amazing is the comic tour de force of Marlon Brando. You see in that flick he's actually a better all around actor than Steve Martin, and better at comedy, really, since when SM does comedy he does SM is just being himself. Brando is actually acting. Unfortunately the flick is only available on VHS for now. Well worth getting your hands on though.

Very disappointed with THE PINK PANTHER. Steve Martin and Kevin Kline didn't do the "tribute" to Peter Sellers and Herbert Lom I thought they would do. (In fact, Kevin Kline sleepwalks through the role of Dreyfus.) There are certain characters that can be reinvented, and there are others that can't. This is one of the latter. While there are funny moments, I felt like I was watching more of a remake of "The Naked Gun" or "Ace Ventura"--all the same elements are there, sadly without the artful antics of the late great Sellers. Steve Martin should hang it up now. He's a little too old to be sliding down bannisters and prancing around in wallpaper suits.

Just saw GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK. I stayed away from it until now because I expected it to distort history and preach a certain viewpoint (as most Hollywood interpretations do), but I was astonished to discover how intelligent it is. All points are made subtly and just as Murrow did, the film lets the footage from the actual Senate hearings speak for itself. Back in college, I had to study the original Murrow kinescopes and write a paper on the subject. The film captures the feel and intensity of the historical moment perfectly. And it assumes that I the moviegoer am smart enough to understand it--there are very few simple and neat explanations of what's going on. In fact, I suspect if a viewer doesn't know anything about Edward R. Murrow nor Senator Joseph McCarthy, he or she is going to be a little lost. (Although hopefully the film will inspire said viewer to look it up.) I was mentally exhausted by the end of the 93 minutes running time. And it's directed by George Clooney?!? I didn't think he had it in him, but I was wrong.
