Dave, I guess it is a stark reality that had Lydd managed the water inline with the terms of the lease then Mid Kent would not have been approached by the owners with regard to looking for improvements in litter management, day tickets etc. In addition to that have you read Chris's comments regarding the relocation of fish? I doubt very much whether any fish would be even be considered for relocation without substantial quarantine, which is not economically viable and further to that, as Chris said, they have stock ponds full of fish so why would they????
It is sad that a club has lost it's water but the reality is that Lydd need to look to themselves and understand why they lost it before making assumptions about the morals, ethics and business plans of an extremely professional and successful club

Thats very sad news - terrible to lose a local water to MKF. Its a sad sign of the times that good local clubs that were the lifeblood of the sport cant compete with these bigs clubs who are only interested in a fast book.
Almost inevitable that stock will be relocated as has happened to various other local waters (Radar and Herons park to name but 2)

I used to fish it on a day ticket at £6 a day. Multiply that by 365 days and that's £2190 a year.
Cemex is £40 a year
MKF is £95 but with lots of other waters available as well.
There's loads of water in the area, perhaps Lydd should try and same some for angling rather than let the RSPB have them all, instead of moaning about their loss. Further, there was always line and litter in the swims nearest the Cemex sign so I;m not surprised Lydd lost it.

I would just like to clarify the situation regarding MKF taking over the Long Lakes. (1) As founder and manager of MKF I strongly resent the implication that we intend removing any fish from this water or any other water, why ever would we want to do this when our members are to fish the venue. We have stock ponds full of fish situated throughout the South East which we breed ourselves, we certainly have no need to remove fish from this venue or any other venue.
(2)At no time did I approach Cemex for the lease on this water, I was not even aware of its existence, Cemex came to me and asked if I would take it on as they were not happy with the way it was being managed, especially with the amount of litter they found at the venue and the fact that day tickets were being sold. Natural England also were not happy at the way it was being policed and controlled. (3)We have no intention of fishing in the close season, if the person who wrote the report found out their facts they would know that all members have been told that there is a close season on the venue as there are on other SSSI venues we control. (4)£95 is not the fee for this lake alone, it covers 10 other lakes as well, most of which do offer all year fishing. (5)We have no intention of fencing the lake, we will of course be policing the lake and poachers will be prosecuted. I hope this clears up the situation, I am afraid I cannot account for sour grapes!!

If worried about paying £95 for a tier 3 mid kent ticket, why not join Cemex as it is cheaper? I do still think day tickets should be available though.
Lydd Angling should worry about finding new waters and not worry about what other clubs are doing.
