I give honor to all women and men who have fought for our freedom. I especially give gratitude for this young womans sacrifice. I also ask God the Father to comfort her family and especially her two children.

As a mother and Grandmother my heart goes out to Lori's family. I also buried a child, not due to war but from a head injury while playing with his friends at the park. I live everyday as if it's my last and no longer put off anything that can be enjoyed today. Even though it's been 13 years since our loss it still feels like yesterday. The 'normal' that the Piestewa family used to know will never exist again. a new normal will be developed and you all will persevere but if you think you'll ever be able to look at this in a way that you'll be able to understand or accept completely you'll only be fooling yourselves. You will never completely heal and even though there will be times when you'll wish you could fill that void that just won't disappear in your heart it's a void that will never be replaced and rightfully so. I wish you all peace of mind and happiness in the fact that you were able to share Lori for the time you had. You were truly blessed...
