As a military veteran, I feel that I must stand and remember my military family. I did not have the honor of knowing Pfc Piestewa. As a Edisto Indian Chief once told me, I feel the loss in the circle, as I do with every veteran lost. My heart is with the family and my condolences.

Dear Native family,
I truly believe that Lori put up a fight. Being Native myself my soul feels that she put those evil people in their place before they decided to quiet her forever. Little do they know how many more of us are still here on earth that will do and go through what she did in the name of peace, of having a free land for our little ones to live in. The first time we heard about out native sister, my sons were very upset. And when we heard of her passing, we cried. I know nothing can or will replace her but you should know that she is looked up to, and as everyone says. "she is a true WOMAN WARRIOR"
I pray for you and her babies she left behind.
