I served in Vietnam '63-64 as flight surgeon as CO of 130th Medical Detachment in II Corp area in QuiNhon attached to one of the helicopter company of the 52nd Combat Helicopter Bn.out of Pleiku.
We depended greatly on the maintainance units that were attached and assigned to our chopper units t keep us in the air and in safe and operable birds.
May she rest in peace and may she watch us from where the eagles soar. God Bless you Lori

As a member of the Hopi Tribe, it is an honor to see Lori being honored by so many people across this nation. It is a great loss & I'm sure she never intended to become a hero & only went to conquer what she believed in... a better life for her family and freedom! May she rest in peace & forever be remembered as our Native Warrior. Our hearts and prayers to her family, friends, relatives & all who knew her. It was sad, though a great privilege to be at the Gathering of Nations to again see her being honored. As a Native Mother, I wish I could erase whatever pain & loneliness her children will endure, instead I offer solace & comfort in the days ahead. Although grateful, no amount of money, will ever bring their Mommy back. To the rest of our soldiers who have not returned yet, may they be safe & remain in our prayers until they return home. We are the few, but the proud...NATIVES!!
