I am a veteran who was diagnosed with HEP C in early 2003 and treated with latest drugs. Due to side effects (platlet count dropped to 22,000) was taken off drugs. I was then monitored from 2003 to 2007. As my liver slowly worsened and the side affects of the liver disease started showing up I was advised to be evaluated for a transplant and am in that process now. Looking for help in getting VA compensation. I beleive I contracted the virus from air gun inoculations received in 1967 and then again in 1973. However, because I haven't been able to get complete copies of my medical records I do not have a vital link of proof. If anyone can suggest what my best course of action is it would be greatly appreciated.

WAS TOLD TO CONTACT U ABOUT FILING A CLAIM. DRAFTED 1970, HAD PNEMOJET SHOTS. NEVER SHOWED SYMTOMS TILL A FEW YEARS AGO HEP C..IS FILING A WASTE OF TIME??

I began treatment with pegasys and ribavirin in January 2005 and completed in January 2006. at 6 months my blood work showed that i was non-detectable, but by the end of treatment, the virus had broken thru. My doctor now wants me to consider infergen. This site has helped me get needed information. thanks

Hi Sandi from canada gave me your link, I feel so alone here in Ventura, CA. I was diagnosed 02, non-responder to trmnt started to loose eye sight so taken off tx but my biop has gone frm 2 1/2 to 1. I suffer extreme joint pain throughout my body n alot of depression. well thnks 4 yr time VERA
