Wow, can't believe it has been six years since I last posted on this web
site. E-mail address has changed since
then. Still living in central Minnesota yet, and Ana and I visited Ponce this past March, for our 43rd anniversary. We are kept pretty busy with my work yet and caring for 2 young
grandchildren, living with us full time. Get to be our age, and you wonder how many of our shipmates are still living. I know from the 63-65 era, that we've lost many of our mentors in chief's Jim Bishop, Warren Leitzel, Sandy Freid, Jim Tapp;also, Hyda (Joe) Hines and John Lewis. Lost contact over the years with many others, as well. Hope this finds all of
you shipmates and families, no matter what years you spent at the fort, in great health and happiness. 73's. Misroute

Anyone who is active on Facebook can join the group "Fort Allen Sailors Association" and post any comment, pictures, and of course, your contact information. (I just created this group today 9/1/09)

(This is copied from the other guestbook page. I want to make sure it gets seen by everyone possible.)
Greetings, shipmates! Myself and several others who served at Fort Allen are considering starting a Fort Allen Sailors Association to (among other things)help re-establish contact with former shipmates from the Fort, as well as the planning of regular reunions. (Note: This is not to demean or take away from anything that's been done so far. We understand that several reunions have already been held and we are very appreciative of those efforts. We simply feel like it's time to take things to the next level.) What we need at this point are names and contact information. Please e-mail me if you would like to particpate.
