A good friend of mine named Shannon Cambell was interviewed for your web site a few years back and she said some nice things about me. Since then she suffered a career ending injury and I am very saddened to see her not doing what she loved and was great at doing. Hang in there Shannon!

I rode for a year. My friend has been riding for many years and has just retired to raise her kids and work in medicine. Upon retireing she was named the leading appy rider in the nation for 2006. I send my kudos to her and sorrow that racing will miss out in the future on her talents.

Sad news to report from Woodbine. Local rider Jillian Scharfstein has decided to retire. According to an article in "The Game" newspaper she's going back home to Saskatchewan to pursue a career in medicine. We wish her all the best, it's sad to see someone leave the sport prematurely but at least she did get to pursue her dream and never suffered any serious injuries while doing it.

Hello,
I attended Humber college and worked with a female jockey by the name of Danielle Dibert. I have been trying to find out where she is and what she is up to. Last time I spoke to her she was in Florida. Prior to that she rode at Fort Erie. Any info someone might have would be much appreciated!

I just finished reading the abusive responses Chris received over at the DRF forum, while simply attempting to inform people about this wonderful website... unacceptable and very sad. There is no reason in the world that anyone should have to put up with that kind of garbage... :(
I want to invite you to visit UpInClass Racing Forum (USA) @ www.upinclass.com
The Folks @ UpInClass will welcome you and appreciate being told about femalejockeys.com
You have a very nice site... keep up the good work!

At the Toronto Woodbine racetrack there are two jockeys that are better than the rest of the jockeys and their names are Emma-Jayne Wilson and Michelle Rainford. They are the best riders there and are usually in the money with their mounts.

Enjoyed reading about female jockeys and i believe that horses respond better to females than males for their gentleness if the female jocks get to know their horses.
