I am the mum of a 7 week old gorgeous baby boy - he is my third son - my two eldest sons are 16 and 14 years of age - yes, it's been quite a while between children and I guess this may have been due to the fact that the 14 year old was a severe silent reflux baby and it's taken a long time to get over. Unfortunately my seven week old has just been diagnosed with reflux and thankfully, there are websites like this that are very supportive - there was nothing like this 14 years ago!!
I was in dread the entire pregnancy that this baby would have reflux, however, having endured it years ago was able to chat to my wonderful GP (Dr David Wood) who has had Harry on Zantac and Mylanta for about 9 days now and I feel armed with the knowledge I learned from my experience years ago.
No, it is never easy with a reflux baby, however, when my Mum was visiting me from Far North Queensland when my 14 year old was only three months old and I was a horrible mess told me these very invaluable words which stay with me every single day and particularly on bad days I say them over and over - they are "You can endure anything so long as you know it's not forever" - never have truer words been spoken.
Thanks for your website - it's been very helpful.

Your website is wonderful ! I've learned so much about the reflux disease. In reading some of the stories it was like looking at us (daughter in I) in the mirror. It's too bad we don't have any support like this in Canada.

Thank you for a understanding and
informative site. My daughter (age 16
months) suffers from Milk/Soy
Protein Intolerance. She was rare in
the severity of her case and was fed
soley from an NG tube and pump
until she was 6 months old.
Although she is slowly making
progress, it has been life
comsuming with a prolonged
hospital stay, various illnesses, and
an overall lack of understanding from
peers. There is not great support
here in the States, so your site was a
welcome discovery for me. Thanks!
