Hi there. I am looking for some info on
my great grandfather. We have his WW2
service records and he states that his
prior military service was "2yrs 44th
batt" and he has possibly put B company
next to it but it is half crossed out.
Name is Alfred Pike, served with the
2/16th in WW2. Anything that someone can
help with is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Shane Pike

I finally got to see the base I was stationed at in Vung Tau with Long Lines Battalion South. (1968-69) brought back some memories. thanks for the pictures. I pulled guard duty on each of those guard towers...and also visited the beaches..but sadly I was send TDY into the Central Highlands.

Great site. I was wondering if anyone on here had information on experiences the soldiers faced at Gallipoli, firsthand stories of what it was like for them and any long lasting affects it had on them? Or sites to this information? Would be greatly appreciated :) A large help.
