I just found this site & found it very interesting as I have just traced a long lost grandfather to where he signed up for the army in 1942 at monto qld. He was then discharged into the 10th battalion volunteer defence corps in 1943. His name was louis max christian doss Q208464. Would appreciate any help as to where to go for further info, RIP to all who have gone before us.

Hi I need a little help before making an an expensive addition to my medal collection. I have been offered a CSM "South Vietnam" to AATT. The naming is impressed in a style that is less heavily indented and maybe the letter size smaller than usually found on Campaign service medals that I have from the UK. Would this be correct for medals issued to Australians.
All comments appreciated
I have often visited your site usually for pre 1919 stuff Carryon the good work

Great site and would love to hear from Sig Pl and D Coy blokes and anyone else. Never was shot at in anger, only in frustration.

A mine of information on your site so much so, that I shall read it again in the morning.
I found from what I’ve perused so far that it’s an utter gem.
It is not easy to make a website as I know only too well...this is a magnificent site.
Thank you from an ex soldier.
