I am looking for an old friend I met in Singapore in 1969/70. I only remember this about him; his first name is Peter, he was a sergeant with the Australian army, he was married and his wife gave birth while on tour. He is approx 62-67 years old.
If anyone remembers him or can put me in touch with him or vice versa that would be terrific.

An excellent presentation and extremely helpful to me personally. Your site has helped me greatly in identifying many badges that I have collected over the years and either never knew or had forgotten who and what they were.
I commend you.

I had the pleasure of dealing with members of the 4/19th when they were in Tindal in around 95 or so on exercise. There I met a man called Graham Douglas. He and the regiment were a credit to the Light Horse. He was a good man who sent me an original hat badge with eyelets and emu tufts given to him when he joined and I still have it to this day. Well done guys great website.

Nice site and a good overview.
I should note that many graduates/members of
WAUR did very well in the Australian Regular Army.
A number served as Commanding Officers and sub-
unit commanders.
This is no doubt a reflection of the quality of the
recruits the unit attracted, particularly in the days
when the unit boasted nearly 500 members and a
broad range of functions.
Oh yes - members also clearly did well in the
CMF/GRes etc!
