My grandfather Conrad von Hagen "drove" the chuck wagon on the Kangaroo's march. At 60 years of age, it was his contribution to the war effort. Political speaker at the meeting in Goulburn said he was locked up with his two sons. He gave the speaker the lie when he appeared at the back of the hall, and it brought the house down! His youngest son 'Jack' Hagen was at the same time preparing to enlist at Victoria Barracks. Thanks for a great site. David & Heather Hagen

A very nostalgic read. I am looking for anyone who knows of servicemen from the 29/46 Inf Btn, that served in New Guinea.

Well done for your efforts in documenting this fabulous era of aviation. My Grandfather served in the RNAS in ww1. First as a young lad observing from balloons in France, and miraculously survived, trained as a mechanic and served dual role as mechanic and gunner onHP V1500s. He emigrated to Australia in 1923. His name was Harry Stroud, and if anyone has any history on him or teh operating units I'd love to hear from them. Ta
