Wonderful site!
My father, an Irishman, was with the Seaforth Highlanders,wounded at El Alamein in 1942, and reported as missing in action when I was born. Thankfully he was found by Australians and sent to hospital in Cairo. He was always so appreciative of "those great Australians, damn good fighters".

I am secretary at Pukekohe RSA and am trying to find info on Willem (Wild Bill) Fredrik August (Gus) WINCKEL DFC & bar, 18 squad NEI. Broome and Java WWII. Anyone knowing of him and/or his service contact me please. I am having him as a speaker in Pukekohe 20 Oct '08. An amazing 96 years old. Love to know more. My father's cousin Lieutentant Sidney Virgil Sinclair VX108342 was KIA in PNG on 14/03/1944. I would love a photo of him and to know more of him and the battle in which he died.
