Wonderful site, great work keeping the memories of the lost young ones alive. My Pop died today aged 90 (he was in New Guinea in WW2) and he never forgot his mates and my children never will forget their sacrifice either. Lest We Forget.

i thought it was a good lead in piece for ex diggers or civvies wanting to start to build their own informed picture of the war. i served in c coy 7RAR and have never been anything but proud of my mates and our effort,we did our job to the best of a trained soldiers ability and then some. it was the termites back home who were trying to undermine us with their donations of rations and medical supplies to the enemy. in any other conflict they would have been jailed or shot as traitors. long live the regiment and the brave men that serve it past, present and future.DUTY FIRST.

I have been researching material of the 8th Battalion Australian Infantry.
My Great Uncle Charles Frederick Mar was wounded on 3 Oct. 1917 and died 2 days later. Trying to locate where he was serving at that time has been difficult.

very informative site, over the years i have used a number of german wearpons, that have found they way into same "freedom"movements in africa, from the a.n.c.(army national congolese)thsombe time and mabuto to mozambique,my late dad had aMauser scnellfeuer pistole, complet with wooden holster,i fired that a number of time, not in automatic mode, fun, but my p38 captured in the congo (62)5 codo, was very nice, and i suspect an ex ss has it had the ss mark regards
