My father, Maynard Johnson Cole, was a South Australian member of the 50th Battalion, the Great War, and of a group described in his photo album as the October Reinforcements.
I would like to hear from anyone with information about this term. Susan Cole

Extremely interesting site, thank you.
When based with the Royal Air Force at RAAF Edinburgh Field during 1956 to 1959 I paraded in Adelaide on ANZAC DAY.
I was pleased to repeat the occasion in 2004 when visiting Adelaide on holiday with my wife

Good read. My grandfather was a cook, and one of the survivors from the Yarra. He was lucky enough, before he passed on, at a 50th war anniversary, to meet a sailor from the K11 who rescued him.
