Hi All
Tis my first time on the diggers web site AMAZING..........
My great uncle was Major (LtCol) Henry W Murray VC, CMG, DSO & bar, DCM, MiD (4) (CdeG)
The most highly decorated soldier in the Empire in WW1.
The most highly decorated Australian ever.
Rose though the ranks from Private to Lieutenant Colonel.
I love looking at all the current stuff on the web, Keep up the good job.
Him and Percy Black are my hero's!!
May there memory and all the other diggers/cobbers be remembered for our future generations sake.
The men in those days were men from the age of 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18-- Something our Men these days should stop and reflect upon, Tis something i agree most with my Nanna and her circle.
BECAUSE OF THEM AUSTRALIA STILL IS A FREE COUNTRY.
SOMETHING WE ALL TAKE FOR GRANTED.

Great stuff, I sure data to assist in my family military research.
1863 2nd Waikato Militia Maori wars Charles Wooster & his brother Thomas Wooster.
Gallipoli & France WWI, KIA Robert Featherstonhaugh Wooster(AIF) & Thomas Brandon Wooster (NZ).
WWII Ronald Wooster PNG. Lionel Victor Kearns Singapore & Changi POW's.
I'm particularly interested in identifying the unit my late grandfather Victor Lionel Kearns of Newcastle NSW served in, I have a photo of him in uniform, family verbal history of his service at Gallipoli & nothing else, he served under an assumed name therefore I've not been able to track down his records.
Also his son Lionel Victor Kearns, AAMC, 10 Gen Hosp, Japanese POW, "L Force" Changi.
Any suggestions?
Regards
Ray, Ex RAAMC 77-94

I servered in Borneo with "v" Bty RA 6lt Regt while there we had B company 4RAR for protection at the cun encampment and also carring out hearts and minds and combat patrols. A great bunch of guys and it was interesting passing on our gunnary skills with live fire and dimantaling of the 105mm gun, we all soaked as a result.I Salute the Guys who gave their lives in Vietmnam and would have been proud to give the coveribg fire when needed but alas our Government at the time got cold feet.
