I came across the Ancient order of froth brewers when i was searching for information about a mercenary named Colonel "Mad Mike" Hoare. In December 1981 He was involved in an attempted coup in the Seychelles in order to avoid suspicion he and his team claimed that they were members of The Ancient Order of Frothblowers, that were visiting to play Rugby and Golf.
A customs official spotted an Ak47! in one of the golf bags and a gun battle ensued. The mercenaries hijacked an air india plane and forced the pilot to fly to South Africa.
Im sure this will be of interest to some so here are a couple of links.

My late father, a man who was known to enjoy the odd glass of beer, described the AOFB as a great social leveller.
Where else in 1920's London would the son of a carpenter and joiner from Peckham, S E London, a fairly poor (financial) background, get to drink and chat with(sometimes titled)middle class like minded men with a common interest?
In respect of the appreciation of real ale, I am trying to maintain the family tradition.

I have an A.O.F.B. Tankard, made by Ashtead Pottery Ltd.
I believe it to be of the smallest size, having a capacity of 1 & 1/3 pint's. (1 pint for Beer and 1/3 for Froth).
I believe it was made in 1928, as attested to by the "Swastika" potter's mark on its base.
The Tankard holds special significance to me because it links me to my birthplace.
My family association with Ashtead Village began in 1950, when my Mother was first appointed to the Staff, of The City of London Freeman's School (located on the outskirts of the village). Several years later, she married my Father and together they purchased a house, in the main street of the village. A few years later, I was born. In 1967, the family migrated to Australia.
We believe it may have been presented as part of a Wedding Gift, although it is possible my Father (many years deceased) may have acquired it through other means (he liked his Beer).
