My maternal great grandmother Martha Harris ran a home for eastend lads in Brightwell cum sotwell in the 1920s. My mother lived there for a very short period and can vageuly remember Sir Alfred Fripp and Dr Watts. Can Anyone help me further.

Interesting to hear the tune to "The More we are together" at last. It appears to be closely based on "Oh du lieber Augustin", only moved from 3/4 to 4/4 time.

Gentlemen, AOFB, Hope it is okay with the stalwats in the UK that we here is Panama thirst for a good pint and now we have the promise of a true London-style pub to open soon. I am suggesting we have division of AOFB here. Your guidance will be appreciated.
Cheers,
Joe

Well, it turns out I have the same birthday as Bert and used to drink - in fact one of my first ever pubs - just round the corner from Chaucer Road.
Anyway, my talk on the AOFB will be on April 25th at The Devereux pub in London, 7:30 for 8, further details to follow.

Just an ote to say that I'm gving a talk on the AOFB to a group of pagans and drunkards at the Moot with No Name in London on Wednesday April 25th, as an emergency fill-in for a speaker who has had to drop out.
Any London FOFB with memorabilia gratefully received!

I'm really chuffed to come across your website. My great grandfather was an AOFB member and we have a pocket watch, and at the end of the chain is an AOFB Blaster beer tankard! Love to find out more information, so feel free to send me more :-) Will it be reformed? Thanks! Mike

Are you aware that there's a reference to your organisation in an early John Betjeman poem?
