Way to go, Sam! You are truly an inspiration to us all, including the Rhodes students (who, by the way, are working really hard to bring another group back down to Bay St. Louis over fall break!). It's so awesome that you've combined two passions, running, and advocating for the people of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Hey Sam! I heard about your quest from the Rhodes Alumni network and just wanted to wish you luck. My husband and I (both Rhodes '96) are also marathoners and would be happy to help if you pass through the Maryland/DC area.

I am a fellow Rhodes alum (class of 98). I am so impressed with what you are doing. What a feat! I have run 3 marathons (and nowhere NEAR as fast as you are running these) and could never in my wildest dreams fathom doing 50 in 50 days! I'll think of you on Saturday when I do my 15 miler as training for NYC. Best of luck to you.

Sam and crew:
We are keeping up with you via the blog and are hoping for your continued success. Looking forward to catching you somewhere when you make the SE states swing in August. We'll be taking Chase's younger brother Thomas to Starkville on 8/11 for his first year of college @ MSU. Thought maybe we could catch you in Memphrica on the following Monday. We're running with you in spirit here in Pensacola. Good luck and God Bless you all.

Just wanted you to know that I am wearing the bracelet that Andres made before y'all left and the kids in my class have been asking me about it. I have been telling them a story about "Superhero Sam" who ran everywhere to get help for his friends...ect. Just wanted you to know they are cheering you on too!

Hi! My husband, Dave, and I are Rhodes alumni, Class of '84. I grew up on Front Beach in Ocean Springs, MS and my family was heavily impacted by Katrina, with my parents losing everything and barely escaping with their lives. So I have a personal interest in your efforts to keep the ongoing situation down there in the nation's collective consciousness! Please know that you'll be in our prayers, and that you have our gratitude. Good luck! Elizabeth and Dave
