Hi Tom,
I am a twenty-two year old college student. Last December, I was in a severe car accident. Among other things, I fractured my pelvis and broke my femur. I had three intensive surgeries that resulted in my left leg being shorter than my right. Like you, I also have a titanium rod in my left leg.
I am telling you this because otherwise, you could not know how much you inspire me. Your persistence and motivation to push yourself amazes me. I still can't run after nine months, but knowing that someone else has overcome similar obstacles gives me the hope that someday I will too. Thank you for your amazing accomplishments.
~Trina

Good luck on the 50 miles in 50 days! I haven't seen such a performance of the human body since Canadian Terry Fox ran 143 marathons in a row on one leg! You are an inspiration to the sport! Keep up the good work.

I understand your motivation and drive. I ran 1800 miles around the state of Colorado in the course of one year. Your body may say stop, but you will keep going, knowing that the goal is within reach.
Remember to thank your support crew everyday. They are the reason that you can keep running. They are there through the good and bad times. They support you even if your attitude is less than kind. They pick up the peices at the end of each day, put you back together and get ready for the next.
Remember the journey. All 1800 miles of mine are replayable, people I met and places I visited. That was the best part of my adventure.
Your adventure will test your mental strength as much as the physical. Stay positive and enjoy. Your message is getting out.

I would like to donate to your efforts. Unsure how to do this after looking through the website.
You're an inspiration, keep up the good work. I think I'll break out my running shoes tonight!
