Sam, Your are an incredible example of what a person can do not only for yourself, but for your community. Being a father, I have told my children that today's hero's are the soldiers, policeman and fireman in our community, not the professional athletes that only want for themselves. It is so refreshing to see an athlete like yourself bringing awareness to a community that so badly needs support right now. I am currently training for the Chicago marathon and currently agonizing my first 20 mile long run I need to do this weekend. How do you motivate yourself to run 26.2 everyday for the last 47 and for the next three. Good luck with your quest!!!

Sam, Been following you all the way and Kate has been sending me reminders. I've got a meeting Friday in Lafayette or I would be down in NOLA to run/cheer you on (still trying to get out of that). I have past on the news to friends and coworkers in NOLA and Bay St. Louis, so I know you should have plenty of support. Plan on making it over to the Bay! Sam, Great Job!!! I just found out about your runs shortly after you finished up your run here in Atlanta. I think it is truly amazing for a guy with your talent to use that Talent not for personal gain but to help out a region of the country that has been truly devastated.
