Incredibly informative site. My great uncle John Arthur (Jack) Gorman was part of the 2/26 and was on the RAKUYO MARU, but was unfortunalty taken by sharks just prior to the US sub Pampanito.

Hi, Well done on the website and the research. I am most impressed with the level of detail and recognized several of the names eg. Louis O'Farrell was a neighbour at Innisfail. My Great Uncle served in the 2/26Bn., he was Les Nuttall, note the second 'l' in his surname. Les passed away at Innisfail. He spoke a lot of his time in the army and he is still missed by his extended family. Another member, G.A.M. Rutledge, was repatriated to Australia and discharged, he later re - enlisted and joined the ANGAU. All the best. Jim
