Great site! Wonderful information source. I think it helps me appreciate what my great-uncle, Hector Wilson, went through. I never knew him, but he was family. I found his name on the Roll of Honour at the AWM yesterday after attending the Dawn Service. Thanks for help fill in the details. If anyone remembers serving with Hector, please feel free to contact me.

My Great-Grandfather, Lionel Oliver Gordon Cripps was in this battalion, and was one of the unlucky men who had to endure the hardship of the burma railroad.
I was surprised to find this website, as I have done a little research a few times, but never come across this one. Its great, and as soon as I see my Nan, I'll get a photo of Lionel for the site.
Thanks for having such a great, informative website

Hi Nick,
I think you may have mistaken us with the U.S 2/26th. This web is about the Australian battalion which decommissioned after WWII.

Having today spent the day at the War Memorial in Canberra, it motivated me to look up the archives for information on my grandfather's brother, Allan Stocker. In doing so I came across this website. A brilliant website and a great tribute to those men.

I have now visited your website twice. Both times have enjoyed every minute of reading/research. My Great grandfather 'Francis Kahlu' aka "curly" was in 2/26th. If anyone has any photo's of my G-Grandad, please dont hesitate to forward them to me. My family lost all contact when he went to war. So anything is better than nothing.Once again, i have truly enjoyed this web site, if only other battalions would do the same. Thanks again.
Lisa. LEST WE FORGET

Thank you for such an informative website. I am the daughter of Edward(Ned) Goy who died in 1992. It is great to have so much information on this website and I will be encouraging my daughter and sons to visit and discover this wonderful website.
