I am after a photo that is on your site for an ex 2/26th pow who is in a nursing home down my way with his wife, QX6467 Lt Harry Marnes Abel; age 97. He still has a sharp memory and can recall a lot of his war time memories. He does not have any photo of himself in uniform and as you have one on this site I was wondering if you could send me a copy so I can give it to him.

I would like to make a correction in regards to Lindsay's comment below. The 2/26 Battalion Association as such, but the son of a Battalion member arranges tours to both Thailand and occasionally Burma. If anybody wants to travel to Singapore, Thailand or Burma, there are usually a number of tours run by various Associations around Australia conducted for Anzac Day each year. As far as I know, the son of the 2/26 Battalion member will arrange personal tours for groups of people at various times during the year.

My cousin David Ostrofski died of cholera at Lower Songeri in June 1943 He was a member of F force and came from Toogoolawah Q. People from the 2/26 have organised tours to the Burma Railway and to Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery I recommend it

The Defence Medal 1939/45 was also issued to all servicemen who served in Malaya, NEI and Borneo. Was issued to all POWs of the Malayan campaign. I noticed it was not on the medals that are on your website. I met Ron Magarry in the mid 1980s
