I go to Unley High School in South Australia. After hearing about the White Wreath Association, the SRC (of which I am a part) held a casual day and raised $850 for White Wreath. I urge all schools to try and contribute to such a worthy cause.

Visited chat room to get views on why suicide has such a stigma. It can be the only real alternative. I know.

Daily I interact with people who suffer from a mental illness and have attempted suicide; I am one of those people also. Mental Illness seems to be a recurring gene in my family. I have however been learning to work with it and not against it and to recognise the changes in my moods and thinking patterns. Mental Illness has played a big part in most cases of attempted suicide that I have encountered and others were angry and grieving. Either way it is unfortunate that suicide is a constant thought in many people's mind. I am grateful for this website and I have been reading word for word for the last 3 hours. I think you have already made a huge impact on many people's lives and wish you the best of luck challenging the system. Things need to be more accessible for people in desperate situations.

When my older brother commited suicide in 2000, i was lost forever. I felt out of it, and i still am at times. I was sad, even though it hasn't hit me fully. I was only 14 when he died. Now i am 16 amd i am ever so slowly getting over the loss of my Brother Matthew. I ask god for strength each day to get over my brother's loss. But i know that my family have been hit by it more than i have. I pray that my Matthew is alright and i pray for the strength to endure each day. I pray for the strength to help my family and myself.
