Its great to try and decrease suicide rates but so
much more has to be invested in mental health
research. these diseases are real and medication
often does not work and doctors themselves tell us
we know little about how your disease works. as a
sufferer who has attempted suicide once mental
health has to be the WORST affliction ever!!! most
people will tell you to try harder or be positive so
few acknowledge you have an actual bloody illness.
so people do belive you and you are actually in the
most acute indescribable pain. then when you cant
take anymore and you succumb to your illness
people say you were weak or simply selfish

Hi Guys . . .
Well I was almost a victim to a suicide attempt a couple of years back. I also was put in a mental institute for 4 weeks, because they were concerned about me and that I would try again !!
Whilst I was in there, a friend of mine gave me a book called "Battlefields of the Mind" I quickly realised that we cannot "change circumstances around us, but we can change our attitude towards circumstances" !! This allowed me to view life from a different way . . . . this was the start of my come back !!!!!
You ask why would I try and attempt to take my life ?? Well these are the reasons why:-
1) Prison Time
2) Marriage Break Up
3) Loss of Business
4) Loss of a million dollar home
5) Loss of over $700,000 from a business deal
6) Loss of Family & Friends Support
7) Not seeing or hearing from my daughter in over 12 months
8) Down to my last 45c in my pocket with no job or place to go !!
9) And the loss of my Father & Brother in Law passing away.
And this was all in a period of 12-15 months . . . .
I now have a fantastic business, a great partner, NO medication, NO negative thoughts and I now want to share my true story with others and be able to help and tell other people suffering from "Depression" (that I don't believe in, its only a state of mind) and suicide thoughts that "You Can and Will Overcome Any Challenges That we face in our path to whatever we want in our life !!
Just know how to control your state of mind, without drugs !!
Peter

I have recently lost my friend of nearly 50years to suicide. It is so hard to carry on. I should have been a better friend. I should have been there for her. My sister told me about this site and I find it very helpful and informative. Thankyou
