Hi, I'm delighted to find this site, having embarked on a bit of a personal 'Scottish roots' project in the wake of a very special trip to Glasgow last month. My parents came from Bridgeton, and my older brothers were born there. My Dad passed away in 1976, but looking through an old scrapbook that my now-78-yr-old Mum made for me, I see my Dad in a Cambuslang Rangers team photo from the Evening News, dated March 14th, 1953. She still tells the story of the day two team officials showed up to invite him to play, and took him out immediately to buy new boots. My Dad's football career pretty much ended there - at season's end, with one young son and another on the way, he took a job at Rolls Royce which offered the perq of free housing. I suppose it was the responsible thing to do. I'd like to add that during my Glasgow trip I was expecting a bit of a cold shoulder from my distant Scottish cousins. But the actual response was anything but. I did manage to get a ticket to the HUGE game at Hampden, and the warm treatment I received from the people of Glasgow before, during and after the match shocked me - one guy stood up and made an announcement on the train about my trip (prompting one quick-witted fan to yell "Jinxy B*st*rd!" but he did it with a grin). In sum, it was a very powerful emotional experience that I'm still processing. But you made me feel in every way like a long lost son, not like an out-worlder. Thank you. Not doing good at all. You would expect at least a early challenge at the top of the table. The team have faded again, looks like its going to be a bottom of the table battle again this season and in a lower divison too!! "Sack the Boss" It looks like he lacks any management skills.

I think you should have the pictures of the players online. I think the website is a great for information on the team as my brother is Kevin Ogilvie and I like to keep up-to-date with his football career. Well done and keep up the good work.
