I james flynn , brother of john f flynn, who is now 85, and in declining health, john served aboard the de-156 , and when renamed apd-52 uss revves the entire war years. i just heard his stories, when I escorted him to the doctors. I am the younger brother of this hero, I never heard this stories, until the doctor asked him about his service record, The story that most sticks in my mind was when he told me that the uss revves actually sunk a german u-boat with depth charges. The sub never surfaced, but the wreckage floated to the surface, it was he said an un-confirmed sinking. i checked the u-boat web site, and it is listed with at least 8 missing u-boats in the area of the atlantic where the uss revves was. He told me that he personally gave water to pappy boyington when rescued from the liberated jap pow camps, great stories

I served on Reeves a total of 8 years- 82-85 and 88-92? As a Fire Controlman. I retired from the navy in 2003 after 28 years and have settled in NE Florida. Great to see so many familiar names. I have many fond memories of this fine ship and her crew.
