Hey Ironmen,
I served on the Reeves from 1988 to 1991 as BM3 Norton. Maybe some of you remember me. The reeves was without a doubt one of the best ships in Westpac. Living in Maryland now. Look me up if you'd like.

Served aboard USS Reeves (CG-24),Nov.78-Oct.81. Would have completed my 30yrs aboard, but didn't see eye to eye with new missile officer, so I served my last two years ashore. Hawaii and Yokosuka, Japan with Capt'n Chang & Egerton, became a shellback on our tour to Perth Australia, Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean during Iran hostage rescue attempt, and shared the Goat Locker with some great CPO's. Sad to hear and see that she is gone, but we have our memories, either good or bad, that will live on. Thanks to the fine crews I had the opportunity to serve with. - Roger L Sorrells, GMCM, USN-Retired.

I was on the Reeves from Mar. 89 - Aug. 92. It was one of the best times of my life. I made some great friends. I saw some awesome places. If I had it to do all over again, I don't think I would change a thing. Best of luck to all of the Ironmen that served on this great ship. I will treasure those memories always. God Bless!

Great to have had the Reeves webpage suggested to me. THANKS!! I was stationed onboard the U.S.S. Reeves '85-'87 as an HT. It was my first ship when I got out of HT "A" school in Philidelphia (Philly for those in the know! LOL) It was a great ship to serve on. GO REEVES IRONMEN!!
