Was stationed onboard Reeves from 1985-1988 as a GMM1(SW/AW). Had a wonderful tour. Interested in meeting any former shipmates. Currently doing my Commanding Officer tour on shore duty. "Mobile Mine Assembly Unit Fifteen" (google it and you will see me). I am now a Lieutenant Commander and loving life.

The Reeves was my last Sea Duty and my late wife Joan was Ombudsman during my final cruise in her.
"You haven't lived until you have Med Moored in Mauritius!"
"The Only Curiser In Town!"
"Did you climb Mt. Fuji with the rest of the Crew in 1977?" 85% of the crew did!
I currently reside in Coos Bay Oregon where I can view the sea everyday. I miss my shipmates and the daily routine. My wife was proud to have served the Reeves as her Ombudsman during the 1977 Westpac!

On board the War^&$#@ 24 as a BM3 from 87-91, loved Japan!! I see a lot of names that I remember. Great memories of friends and the ports that we hit, and boy did we hit em!! And also we worked hard, especially us deck apes. The OS's definately got more liberty than us!! haha! If you know me, don't hesitate to to e-mail!

I never had the pleasure of serving on the Reeves, but always felt a close kinship to her since we both share the same name.
I was on a couple of cans during the 50s & 60s. I was at a flea market here in Bethany a year or so ago & spotted a cig. lighter with the USS Reeves emblem on it so I grabbed it right up. I was really surprised to find it. Jim Reeves

I worked in the #2 engine room (THE TWO SCREW CREW) Serving aboard the Reeves was truely some of the proudest moments of my life. She was the most beautiful ship I had ever seen even to date. I was saddend and yet relieved to hear about her fate.I am also glad to see that so manny care about her yet. If anyone rembers me and wants to chat about life on her drop me a line. I was aboard her in the years of 87and 89.

Great site! I served aboard the Reeves from 1967 to 1968. I was first in the deck division and then the ships barber. After only four hours of training, I screwed up a lot of haircuts! Sorry about that. Hee hee. In 1968 I left for the USS Decater and then left the Navy to return to college. I spent the next twenty six years as a Texas State Trooper. I'm retired now and would love to hear from some old shipmates. It was definitely a learning experience!
