Served aboard the Reeves from Dec. 65 until July '68 in the Fwd Engine Room. Great ship and crew through out the years. While at HRMD Yokosuka worked on the Reeves and while at SIMA PH involved in her last overhaul with the the NTU and then the decommissioning. I knew many of the CO's and a lot of crew members over the years. One thing they all had in common was their love for the ship.

Served onboard the Only Cruiser in Town from '85 - '87 under Capts. Webber and Chapell. There are too many "fond" memories of the haze gray and underway daze...the IO, the Persian Gulf, chasing Ivan up the Russian coast, the PRC visit, Steel Beach, and one too many liberty ports in far flung lands. It was great to see alot of familiar names here...take care guys and those were some great days that we had.

My yearly note: Each year we seem to come across more shipmates from Precom Norfolk/ Bath. Duncan & Simmons both showed up, lets play poker! Still like to find Ingham, Madsen, Carnahan, Crow& Crow texas boys for sure. Mike Thibideau and Maybe DP McAleer have also logged in. DP I saw your note assuming that is the same guy I hung out with in Norfolk, Bath, & Hawaii I tryed the email but would not go through. Email me at quench03@msn.com. I assume most of us remember Jamica, what fun, I believe John Crow got lost for a day. After that we all got lost. Mark (Moe) McGuinness

Served under Capt. George Chapell aboard "The Only Cruiser in Town" in 86 and 87 as a SN and later SM3. I have great memories of the ship and was proud to be a Iron Man. Some of you I served with called me the "swede".

Reeves was my last duty ship.Picked her up in Bath Maine after a shipyard strike 1970? Took her from Maine through the Panama Canal and on to Hawaii. It was a nice cruise after two WestPac tours on the Hull DD945.
