Served on board from June 1974 through June 1976. When I got to the Reeves she was in the shipyard in Pearl. I worked on the paint and tile team, and then went to the Forward Fire Room. Made one West Pac in 75. Spent my 21st birthday onboard, anchored out in Pearl Harbor. I was there when somebody came up with the saying, ”If the BT don’t Groove, the Navy don’t Move.” And now there isn’t any BTs. Got my 3rd class crow just before I transferred to USS Sterrett out of San Diego. Awesome memories of awesome shipmates. If any of you remember me you want believe this, but I teach a 9th grade boys Sunday School Class now. Not long ago we were studying 5 purposes God has for our lives, one of which is Fellowship. I asked if anyone had a definition for fellowship. One kid spoke up and said “A BUNCH OF FELLOWS IN A SHIP”. FELLOWSHIP is when you truly share your life with someone. And I had to agree with him when I think of the men I served with on the Reeves.

Was not on the Reeves. Was on the Cochrane DDG-21. We steamed with the Reeves a lot. My last day on any ship in the Navy - Oct 1985 in Perth Australia. We were outboard the Reeves and I crossed over and caught a MAC flight to Cubi. SO the last Navy ship I ever set foot on was the Reeves. I knew Dan Snodgrass who was the RMC onboard Reeves as well. Good luck on your reunions. I go to two or three a year and they are a ball.

Served as the Baby Doc from 1988-1990. Had some of the best times of my life aboard the REEVES (being single at the time helped a lot!). Sure do miss our second home (Subic) and the best mojo in town at TGIF Mojo Pub. Been back a few times since (last in 2002) and it isn't the same.

I served onboard The Uss Reeve CG-24 as a Boiler technician from 1980-83, I was one of the coolest brothers in Japan, a member of the International Player. I Worked hard and played hard but, thanks to God I stayed safe. Had many friends that was like myself that knew of God and song in the gospel choir with Willie T as the musician. I shared a great friendship with so many that I would love to hear from. I have very fond memories of Corey (Rosevelt Ownes),Fast (Eddie Scoot Jr.) Kenny (keith Bowair),Pewee,Leon Bailey,Ray Maison,Mike Carter.and many others.
