Signing in again. Had the pleasure of 2 tours aboard REEVES-82-85 and 88-90. Currently teaching Damage Control to Precommissioning crews (DDG, LHD, LPD)and in each class use pics from the bombing, and now the video (also use test shots on CG-20), so a new generation of sailors can see what a real ship was like. Fond memories of both tours.

I just found the website today and have gone through the deck log recognizing a few who sailed along during my tour. She was my first ship and like many of the others on the precom crew we were just out of "A" school. Me, FT "A" school. Got much training in DamNeck on the Mk 63 GFCS, some of the FTG's I remember are Ray Federer, Dan Romanuski, Danny Mac Brookins, Bruce Marsh, Sonny Hallman, and of course Larry Cochran. Served aboard from precom until just before she sailed to Australia in the early fall of 72. Great ship, great crew, great times. Sorry to hear she has been sunk. I'm in favor of a reunion. Any who have served, feel free to email me; I am interested in hearing how her gunnery systems were changed in later years.

Reeves mates, the Pearl Harbor movie website is up and running again with pics of the filming from 2000. The URL connects to one shot of the Reeves (ship on the right) being hammered by a couple of "Japanese Zeros". These pics go up and down with the whims of the website owners so no telling how long it will be there. Howdy to all mates, esp., ASW Div. from 66 to 67

Gentlemen, I'm looking for shipmates of Ray Resch, "Baby Huey," Viet Nam
70-72. Baby Huey is in the VA in Milwaukee, WI through 2/13/03. He was in a baseball accident in 1979 and became a quadriplegic, he's in the VA for a small sore on his "butt." He'd appreciate any calls. He's a very funny man with a great spirit-there's nothing depressing in speaking with this guy! His home addy is W17683 White Birch Road, Birnamwood, WI. 54414 and his home telephone is 715-449-2398. When you call him, either at the VA or at home, please let the phone ring and ring: he has to wait for someone else to pick it up. Any of you Reeves men should feel free to contact his brother. You may use my email for any questions or more information. I'm a volunteer at the VA. His phone at the VA is toll free: 1-888-469-6614 X48454. "Welcome Home" to our Viet Nam Veterans!!
Respectfully, Judith

I served as an IronMan in 86 to 88. Lots of great memories, I didn't miss the China cruise, a very foggy day, Dam fine crew. Wish I never transferd.
