I enjoyed this website very much. I grew up living in Halstead and my father, who was a local police officer, made friends with some of the guys from the 20th Air Police Squadron. I remember being taken by Sgt Mike Bradford (Highlands,TX) to RAFW to watch the F100Ds doing their thing - great memories. 40 or so years later, I still go to RAFW as the Essex Wing Gliding Liaison Officer to 614 VGS who spend most weekends training Air Cadets to fly in Viking (Grob) Gliders - RAF pilots of the future! In quiet moments its easy to imagine that I can still hear the sounds of Super Sabres doing their thing... thanks for rekindling the memories.

I was at RAFW from 09/19/1958 to 09/1961; worked in base personnel, officer's club, NCO club, & airmen's club. I retired from ANG & Reserves in 1992. I wa stationed in Wethersfield, 819th RHCES in 1987-90. I would like to hear from folks that were stationed in this time frame and from folks from the village of Wetherdfield and Finchingfiled and Braintree. I have plenty of photos from the area and I've been back several times since then to meet with old friends. If you would like some photos of the area to put on this website, I'll be more than happy to send them to you. I also played in the official "RED- HORSE" band while stationed at the base. Had some great times and still tell the stories.

Stationed at RAFW 73-76..Worked at AFOSI 62 with outstanding people. Loved the golf courses in and around Braintree. Still remember all those "house" parties in the housing area. Our three kids went to school on base. Lisa, Charlie and John all grown now and have families. What a great 3 years for us.
