This is a great site. My dad, Carl M MOAK, was stationed at RAFW from 66-69. It was great being a kid overthere. I even recognized some of my dad's friends and a couple of mine. As a kid I hated moving around all the time. My last four years of high school were spent in four different school. But as I look back I wouldn't trade my experiences as a AF brat for anything in the world.

Wonderful website my late husband L.A.(ZEKE) Williams were stationed at Wethersfield from 1964-1968.Two of our four children were born at Lakenheath. My maiden name was New and I would love to hear from anyone that remembers my family. Cheers! We returned to Upper Heyford from 1970 until returning to the U.S. in 1974.

Worked in the Orderly Room 20th Field Maint Squadron, from 1963-1666. Arrived on TDY (Short Spurt) and converted to PCS. Capt Frank Teat was the Squadron CO and CWO Charles Connor was the Exec Officer. Being a pencil pusher, the Field Maint Squadron turned out to be perhaps the most enjoyable outfit I served in during my 23 years in the Air Force. Perhaps tug operators (AGE section), mechanics from the Jet Engine Shop, Fabrication people (sheet metal, parachute shop, etc), Aero-Repair (especially aft-section removal crews) really loved the pencil pushers when it came to supplemental gas ration coupons, etc. This site has kept me teary-eyed all night since I ran into it by mistake (or perhaps devine power) and it's one hellava site. God bless all.....Robbie...

I'm hoping to make contact with Joseph Verrow or anyone who might have known him. He was in the 20th Tactical Fighter Wing at RAF Wethersfield, in, and probably before, 1958.
There may also be a photo of him in the Yearbook published around that time.
Could anyone who may be able to help pleae conatct me. Thanks in advance.

I was stationed at RAFW from 62 thru 65 and assigned to the radio shop, 2163rd. comm sq. Married in Finchingfield and had a daughter born at RAF Lakenheath. I worked in the airmans club and remember a few names such as Msgt. Chasteen (club manager) Tom Connley (civilian), Rich Carnival (waiter), Tsgt. Delbridge, Ssgt. Southerd and a few others. Great times, remember the Embers Club in Braintree. I lived on Courtauld Rd. in Braintree. I keep up with six of our 2163rd buddies and will be glad to share thier addresses with anyone interested. Would like to find Brian Basinger, Vic Eschelman and Rick Carnival. Retired in 91 and enjoying my 4 children and 7 grand children. Love to hear from old friends.
